Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization - IASTM
Welcome to our site. This page is about Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization for pain relief and improved body function.
IASTM treatments were developed by experienced medical professionals through years of detailed research. The use of these tools and their effectiveness has been scientifically validated over and over again. More importantly to me, it validates everything that I do in my office on a daily basis. I have been using my hands like this, as tools, for years and getting the same results.
IASTM is another option to resolve pain and tightness in the body. This approach to soft tissue work is similar to my "hands-on" fascia treatments but the specially crafted stainless steel tools reduce skin to skin friction which allows a preciseness, sensitivity and depth that cannot be accomplished with the hands, knuckles elbows etc. (I can see all of the massage therapists cringe)
I have always thought that hands were the most sensitive instruments one could use for soft tissue treatments. The claims that the instruments give you more sensitivity sounded strange to me. How could a tool placed between my hands and the clients body allow me to feel more? When I tried the tools for the first time I was completely amazed at all of the detail that came through. So, I bought the tools and have integrated their use into my treatments and my clients love it.

Mixed Martial Arts and Grappling
I will help you beat your pain
Few people depend on their bodies like a fighter. The physical conditioning required is intense and when it comes down to it, only the strong survive.
Running and Endurance Sports
I will help you train without pain
Endurance athletes, especially runners, know the effects of gravity better than most. Whether your running a Marathon, Triathlon or running for fitness, every strike of the foot to the pavement sends awesome amounts of force into the body. Everyone has experienced the negative effects this can have on the body.
Movement Practices - Yoga, Pilates, Dance
I will help you take your practice to the next level
The body functions at its best when movement and energy expands from the core and flows outward without restriction. Stress can cause structural imbalances and restrictions in the fascial layers of the body that will impede this flow, making access to the core more challenging.

Each one of our muscles is surrounded by a thin membrane of connective tissue called fascia. These membranes serve the same purpose as cartilage does for the bones;
More on fascia
Using Direct Release Myofasial Technique (DRMT), the fascia can be engaged in a way that almost instantaneously reduces pain and improves range of motion.
More on pain relief
The body has complex relationships in its structure and function. A problem with the feet can translate into an issue in the hips that causes discomfort in the back and so on.
